Understanding Emotions and Building Resilience

RISE: WAVES OF CHANGE is part 2 of a 3-part series of a psychoeducational support group designed to help participants better understand the impact of trauma, build self-awareness, and develop practical tools for navigating life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

This group combines trauma-informed education with supportive conversation in a safe and welcoming environment.

Weeks 1 & 2: Understanding Emotions

Learn how emotions are experienced in the brain and body, why they can feel overwhelming or difficult to manage, and how past experiences can shape emotional responses. We'll explore emotional awareness, regulation, and practical ways to better understand what your emotions may be communicating.

Weeks 3 & 4: Understanding Triggers

Discover how triggers develop, why they occur, and how they can influence thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Participants will learn strategies to recognize triggers, increase self-awareness, and respond more intentionally rather than react automatically.

Weeks 5 & 6: Building Resilience

Explore what resilience really means and how it can be strengthened over time. We'll focus on identifying personal strengths, reconnecting with values, fostering self-compassion, and developing practical tools to support long-term growth and wellbeing.

You are more than what has happened to you. Through understanding, connection, and practical tools, healing and growth become possible.
